This is a list of foods that you might find in my pantry or refrigerator ...or even the remnants of a dining out experience crumpled in the floor board of my car. :)

Snacks

Fresh strawberries (1 cup, 0pts)

Grapes (1 cup, 0pts)

Fiber One Yogurt (1pt)

Almonds (13-15 nuts, 2pts)

2% String Cheese (2pts)

Baby Carrots (1/2 cup, 0pts)

Sugar Free Jello Pudding Snacks (1pt)

Fat Free Refried Beans (124g, 1pt)

Fiber One Bars (2-3pts)

Kashi Cereal Bars (2pts)

Bell Peppers (1/2 cup, 0pts)

Fiber One Muffins (prepared from mix, 2pts)

 

Tip: Try using a teaspoon of fat free Italian dressing to zest up those boring veggies!

 

Breakfast

Smoothies made with fruit, LF yogurt and juice (2-3pts)

Egg Beaters/Better n’ Eggs (1/2 cup, 1pt)

Instant oatmeal (1 packet, 1-3pts)

Instant Cream of Wheat (1 packet, 2pts)

Whole Grain Cream of Wheat (3 tbsp unprepared, 1pt)

Nature’s Own Double Fiber Wheat Toast (2 slices, 1pt)

Sara Lee Delightful - 45 cals per slice (2 slices, 1pt)

 

Tip: Cream of Wheat: Try adding blueberries or cinnamon with splenda and pure vanilla. YUM!

 

Lunch

Turkey Sandwich w/ lean turkey, FF Miracle Whip, FF cheese, veggies, & bread

"Light" Pringles (1oz, 1pt)

Chicken Broccoli Braid (lightened up Pampered Chef recipe)

Grilled Chicken w. Grilled Veggies and Lipton Rice (points vary)

Grilled Steak w. Steamed Veggies and Baked Potato (points vary)

Tuna/Hamburger/Chicken Helper (prepare w/o butter, avoid creamy options, points vary)
Tacos made with lean hamburger (points vary)
Chicken Quesadillas with FF or RF cheese and Lipton Spanish Rice (points vary)
Chicken Burritos made with FF refried beans and Lipton Spanish Rice (points vary)

Spaghetti made with Prego sauce and Smart Taste Pasta (points vary)

Tip: Buy boneless skinless chicken breast, after trimming drop 1 or 2 into a Ziploc bag with 1tbsp Lawry’s Marinade (various flavors) or other lowfat, low calorie marinade and freeze flat. When ready to eat throw on the grill frozen.

Quizno’s Small Honey Bourbon Chicken (add mushrooms! J 6pts)

Chili's Bar & Grill Guiltless Menu (points vary 10-13)

Burger King Jr. Whopper (8pts.. I think)

 

Fun "gross" Fact: Burger King has the fattiest mayo out of all fast food chains.. barf.

Eating Out Tips

Familiarize yourself with these ideas and make them second nature. You will cut out hundreds of calories without sacrificing any flavor.

No mayo, ask for mustard or fat free mayo instead.
No cheese (this is hard, but you won't even miss it!)
Wheat bread
Skip the fries, ask for steamed veggies or a salad.
Salads, ask for the dressing on the side.
Baked potatoes, ask for everything on the side.
KNOW how your food is prepared, don't be afraid to ask questions.
No butter
Sandwiches and salads, ask for extra veggies.
Specify "grilled" whether it's chicken, shrimp, steak, etc.
Anything that sounds fattening, probably is.
Refrain from choosing: sautéed, creamy, au gratin, deep fried, crunchy/crispy, etc.
Go for: grilled, baked, poached, steamed, etc.
